Environment Oregon joins lawsuit challenging Trump administration’s push to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge

Environment Oregon, along with other environmental organizations and the Gwich’in Steering Committee filed a lawsuit Monday against the Trump administration over plans to begin oil and gas leasing in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The suit argues that the government is running afoul of federal laws and regulations by failing to protect the land, water and wildlife in the refuge.

Statement: Great American Outdoors Act being signed into law is historic

President Trump today signed the Great American Outdoors Act, which will permanently fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) at $900 million annually and provide $9.5 billion over five years to fix maintenance problems plaguing America’s public lands.

Are Oregon beaches safe for swimming?

With summer in full swing, water pollution can close Oregon beaches or put swimmers' health at risk. Last year, bacteria levels at 18 Oregon beaches indicated that water was potentially unsafe for swimming there on least one day, according to the new report Safe for Swimming? by Environment Oregon Research & Policy Center.
